Ingredients
- 2 New York strip steaks or your preferred cut
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp parsley
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tsp pepper
- 4 russet potatoes
Instructions
Prep the Steak:
- Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
Prep the Potatoes:
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the cubed potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and half of the chopped parsley until the potatoes are well-coated.
Air Fry the Potatoes:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the seasoned cubed potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches.
- Air fry the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the potatoes halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Cook the Steak:
- While the potatoes are cooking, heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add a tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to get hot but not smoking.
- Place the seasoned steaks in the hot pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your steak more well-done.
- Use tongs to flip the steaks and ensure even cooking.
Rest the Steak:
- Once the steaks reach your desired level of doneness, remove them from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes on a cutting board. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the steak tender and flavorful.
Serve:
- Slice the rested steak into thin strips.
- Plate the steak alongside the air-fried cubed potatoes.
- Garnish with the remaining chopped parsley for a fresh burst of flavor.
